As of July 2014, the group with the highest unemployment rate was millenials—more than generation X workers and even more than baby boomers. It’s not uncommon for college students to elatedly walk across the platform at graduation only to find themselves six months later still without a job. Why is this? Is this just the economy that we live in? I don’t think so. Even with things bouncing back since the 2008 recession, many qualified millenials are still stuck in dead end jobs with little hope in sight.
Throughout the course of my career, I have been lucky to have a handful of dedicated mentors who took a lasting interest in me as an individual. They got to know me. They knew the name of my wife. They knew where I went to school. They asked me regularly what I wanted to get out of a successful career. They stuck their necks out for me. They stayed late with me. They stretched me and lifted me and inspired me to think bigger.
And that’s what we’re all about.
My very first priority is to help you get to where you want to go. The way we do this is through an innovative new approach to careers. We know that millenials want to keep moving and keep learning. So rather than try to place you in just one job, we offer you the opportunity to enter an employment rotation where you can work in many different companies in a certain sector such as technology, manufacturing, retail, finance, etc. Each six months you get the opportunity to stay in your current role or try something new. Rather than quit your job and then spend 3-6 months trying to find something else for a 25-cent raise, we instead can immediately bounce you into your next rotation. All along the way we will hold regular one-on-one mentoring meetings with you where we’ll listen, teach, and inspire you to try new things and add real value to your organization.
